Our Mission
The mission of the Martin Tuchman School of Management (MTSM) is to educate and prepare our graduates for life-long success as management professionals, corporate leaders, and academic scholars in the dynamic, technology-driven world of global business. Embedded within New Jersey’s technological university, the Martin Tuchman School of Management integrates fundamental business principles with technical knowledge and critical-thinking skills and leverages strengths across the university from engineering and computing to architecture and social science. In this interdisciplinary business-technology environment, MTSM delivers high-quality educational programs and experiential learning opportunities for our students, pursues scholarly academic research and engages in innovation and entrepreneurship activities to serve the community and strengthen economic development.
The Business School at NJIT
The 1988 foundation of the Martin Tuchman School of Management was to provide a standard business education to those well versed in technology. The Martin Tuchman School of Management was accredited by the AACSB international in 1997. To earn this accreditation, a business school must demonstrate that it offers a high quality management education with a commitment to continuous improvement. Only about one-third of all business schools in the United States are able to meet this AACSB quality standards.
The NJIT Martin Tuchman School of Management continues to offer a comprehensive curriculum that covers management, marketing, finance, accounting, and management information systems. These areas are not static and the courses at NJIT School of Management continue to change with the evolution of business. The technology leaders in the business world today must be able to adapt to the complexity that is built into the economic landscape. The Martin Tuchman School of Management considers itself to have a mandate to prepare its students to step into a leadership role in today’s business world. This means that the courses are designed to hit all of the hot spots of business today and must change at the same pace as the evolution of business.
The Martin Tuchman School of Management is at the leading edge of offering this dynamic education to its students. In both classroom and distance learning approaches the school is committed to offering a high quality education that is right in step with the dynamics of the business world. The global economy continues has defined that business today is in a state of transition. Speed and agility are required to be competitive and innovation is a primary driver of business performance. Being a leader in this environment starts at NJIT. It is our goal to show students how to anticipate – adapt – and learn to lead in this business world.
