If you are interested in the analytical methods employed in economics, finance, and actuarial science, then the economics minor is for you. An economic training can enhance your capability to dissect, understand, and analyze societal, organizational, and business issues, both theoretically and empirically. The study of economics will also give you the quantitative foundation to pursue an MA in economics or an MS in finance, as well as an MBA.
The importance of economic inquiry has been recognized by the Nobel Foundation with the annual conferring of the Memorial Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. Economics is the only social science with this distinction.
