MTSM offers a number of funding opportunities for graduate students. Information and availability will be sent to all current students on an annual basis.
ADP Endowment for Research Fellowships in Data Science
Eligibility
Full-time graduate student pursuing their M.S. or Ph.D. in Data Science at the YWCC or a Ph.D. in Business Data Science at the MTSM. The student must be a first-generation, female, and/or member of a minority group that has been historically underrepresented in the STEM fields. Must be pursuing research projects under the guidance and direction of NJIT faculty working in the fields of data science and/or business analytics. Must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and must have demonstrated financial need. To provide much- needed research stipends ("Stipends") to outstanding graduate students who will be designated as "ADP Data Science Research Fellows". Must be a full-time graduate student pursuing their M.S. or Ph.D.
Dr Anthony Kahng Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility
Graduate student at the MTSM. The student must be an under-represented minority within the NJIT population and must demonstrate integrity, leadership, academic excellence, outstanding personal qualities, and commitment to community service. Should demonstrate a need for financial assistance and must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. To provide financial assistance for tuition or to be used toward un-met financial needs. The Fellowship is to be awarded to an underrepresented minority student within the NJIT population.
Dr Reggie J Caudill Endowed Fellowship in Business Data Science
About the Donor
Dr. Reggie J. Caudill is currently the Panasonic Chair of Sustainability. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Alabama. Dr. Caudill has over 30 years of experience in research related to industrial ecology, sustainability, and industrial systems, with over $10 million in research funding since 1990, including a recently funded million-dollar grant from PSE&G bringing exceptional energy efficiency and sustainability techniques to New Jersey industry. A significant aspect of his teaching and research has focused on dynamic systems analysis, simulation, and data-driven decision making in industrial and management systems, including design for environment, production operations, and corporate sustainability.
Eligibility
A full-time graduate student pursuing a Ph.D. in the Business Data Science program at MTSM. If a master's degree program in the same field is established in the MTSM in the future, full-time students enrolled in that graduate program will also be eligible. Students pursuing the Business Analytics concentration in the M.S. in Management program are also eligible. The student must be engaged in a data science-related research project in collaboration with one or more MTSM faculty members. Stipends for outstanding graduate students are provided who (1) are enrolled in one of the academic programs in the Martin Tuchman School of Management (MTSM) that focus on business data science and (2) are actively engaged in data science-related research in collaboration with one or more MTSM faculty members. Priority will be given to students enrolled in the Ph.D. in Business Data Science program. However, other MTSM graduate students may also be considered, such as those enrolled in any future master's degree program with a business data science focus established by MTSM or those pursuing the Business Analytics concentration in the M.S. in Management program.
Henry J and Erna D Leir Endowment for Graduate Student Research Fellowships
About the Donor
Over time, the Leirs established several organizations, eventually becoming known as The Leir Charitable Foundations, committed to the global humanitarian ideals and interests of Henry J. and Erna D. Leir. Thus, its work supports the advance of high quality educational and cultural institutions, medical research and care, services for children and the disadvantaged, and programs that enhance multi-cultural understanding and diversity. In the last years of his life, Henry and Erna Leir planned charitable uses of their 37-acre property in Ridgefield, Connecticut. At age 97, he designed and oversaw the construction of Leir House, focusing on programs for disadvantaged children of all races and religions, and scientific and educational conferences. The first session at Leir House commenced two weeks after his death, and the series and other activities continue to flourish to this day, as he has hoped.
Eligibility
The Leir Graduate Student Research Fellowships will enhance the opportunity to support and recruit outstanding new students into the Ph.D. program in MTSM.

Eligibility
The Leir Charitable Foundations funding will provide endowment support for post-doctoral and distinguished research faculty fellowships. Also, nationally and internationally recognized research leaders in the field of business, technology, and society will be invited as Leir Fellows to work collaboratively with the Tuchman School faculty and students for extended periods of up to one-year appointments.
Martin Tuchman '62 Endowed Fellowship
About the Donor
A philanthropist, innovator, and entrepreneur, Martin Tuchman earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from NJIT in 1962; Soon after Mr. Tuchman started his career at Railway Express Agency as an automotive engineer. In 1968, Mr. Tuchman co-founded Interpool, one of the nation's leading container leasing corporations. The Tuchman Foundation works closely with Parkinson's research organizations seeking grants and approvals from the National Institute of Health. Martin has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young and received a Hero Medal at The Smithsonian Institute.
Eligibility
Full-time graduate student enrolled in the MTSM. The student must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.5. May demonstrate financial need but does not need to. Endowed by Martin Tuchman to provide financial assistance to graduate students enrolled in Martin Tuchman School of Management at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
